PRESCHOOL & CHILDREN’S

“But
Jesus called the children to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me,
and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Luke

Empowering

to walk with Jesus
The goal of the children's ministries at Maywood is to partner with parents to build a spiritual foundation in the life of their child that, in God's timing, will lead a child to be a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
Powerhouse
Kids
Powerhouse Kids is Maywood ’s Wednesday night ministry to children 4
years old through sixth grade. The
excitement begins at 6:00 pm with a free meal for all children and their
parents. The children then enjoy
gym activities, Bible teaching and memorization, music, crafts, and prayer in
small groups.
Sunday School
Preschool & Children’s Sunday school consists of age-graded
classes for infants through sixth grade, which meet from 9:30-10:35 am. These Bible classes emphasize teaching
the truth of God’s Word and showing how to share Jesus’ love to all people
everywhere.
Preschool and Children’s Worship
Preschool and children’s worship meet during our 10:50 am worship
service. The preschool worship is
designed especially for children ages 4 through kindergarten, while the
children’s worship service is for children in grades one through five. This is an opportunity for children to
learn to make worship of God a lifestyle as they hear the message and plan of
God, as it is told through the Bible, in a way that is meaningful to
them.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a dynamic week long program offered each
summer. VBS includes Bible
teaching, a variety of Bible learning games and activities, music, crafts, and a
time of fellowship and refreshments.
Children’s Camp
Children’s camp is offered each summer to provide an outdoor
experience away from the church in a Christian community. Children’s camp emphasizes relationship
building. The children learn to
build relationships with God and each other through Bible teaching, music,
skits, outdoor activities, and a variety of other exciting
experiences.
Special Activities
Special events are planned throughout the year to provide a variety of activities related to the interest and developmental abilities of the children. These events are a combination of fun, education, and service to help the children grow physically, mentally, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Day trips, parties, and service projects are examples of these activities.
