When Stephanie Vaughn came to SHAPE class two years ago, she carried a vision God had given her for serving Him. She found as she explored her “SHAPE” through the class that this vision came more and more into focus. It was a vision, however, to serve, not within customary roles within the church, but to go outside the walls of the church…WAY outside the walls!
By the end of the SHAPE class, the vision for serving somewhere in the Middle East, maybe Israel, had become increasingly clear but still needed refining. Stephanie did not end her pursuit of God’s purpose for her once she completed the SHAPE class. She continued to seek answers and counsel.
Eventually her search connected her with the mission organization, Back to Jerusalem. Through this organization her heart was drawn to a town near Mosul, Iraq in which this organization supports a safe house for women and children. Many of the women and children had been captured by Isis and made sex slaves. Others have lost husbands, fathers, and various family members killed by Isis because they would not renounce their faith.
Stephanie recently visited this safe house working alongside others serving there. Is this what God has for her? She continues to pursue God’s direction for her life.
